CALL OUT for Future Citizens Collaboration

that’s Ecotainment! & Sustainable Fashion Week are searching for organisations and individuals to participate in an online workshop 28th Feb – 2nd March (2025). At the end of the workshop participants will have devised their own Sustainable Fashion Action Plan!

The activity could be open to the public and general interest or could be tailored to your specific group or needs.

The Future Citizens campaign is aimed to inspire 11 – 23 year olds “to take fashion ACTION for the next generation”. Similarly in lock-down (2021) that’s Ecotainment! devised and delivered “How Can Fashion Be Sustainable” workshop to sixth-form students in Salisbury, Wiltshire UK. For Future Citizens the material will be revised/ refreshed and made available to a much wider audience.

If you are an designer / educator / student / community group or eager participant please get in touch now to register your interest. Register your interest before 1st Feb to be an early adopter, guarantee you place on a workshop & maybe feature in the forthcoming publicity and marketing materials. Depending on demand there maybe more than one workshop, the workshop will be 60 – 90 minutes long and there is no previous experience or knowledge required.

Synopsis – An Online Assembly Style Workshop to Devise a Sustainable Fashion Action Plan

The activity will be led by a solar-powered DJ, festival performer and seasoned community activist who made a disco out of waste whilst working at recycling centres. His costumes are also reclaimed, vintage and upcycled. Approximately 1 hour long & suitable for up to 30 participants the workshop will be organised by a host and a facilitator. The outcomes will be a Top Ten of ideas / Sustainable Fashion Action Plan!

5 min Welcome

10 min Introduction to Tip of the Pops wheelbarrow disco – the what, where and why it all began. Includes inspirational real-life examples of community action / arts in Dorset from (2001 – 2024). The thoughts and feelings of a conflicted recycling centre operative, ASOS delivery driver and climate activist/ creative campaigner

15 min The whole group will then be split into smaller working-groups to brainstorm ideas

15 min Each working-group will present their best ideas to the whole group

10 min at the end of the activity the group will have devised a Top Ten / Sustainable Fashion Action Plan!
